1) Preparation – we ask you to brush your teeth before starting the power whitening treatment, using a disposable tooth brush, we add flour of pumice paste.

This pumice paste is a dentifrice abrasive that is ideal for cleaning and preparing the tooth surface for the teeth bleaching gel, before any teeth whitening procedure commences. It is especially beneficial on teeth that have been subject to tobacco smoke, tea, coffee, red wine, cola  and food colourings.

2) We determine and record the colour shade of your teeth with the Vita teeth bleaching shade guide before we start the tooth whiting process. A lip, cheek, and tongue retractor will be inserted in your mouth, which will separate your lips, cheek & tongue away from your teeth allowing us full access to discoloured and stained teeth that need whitening; a light cured gingival barrier/solution is applied to the gums and cured to protect the gums from the gel, forming a firm barrier over the gums. We place protective eyewear with side shields over your eyes to protect them from the UV light.

3) Hydrogen peroxide or other peroxides for whitening teeth is the ' active ingredient ‘ in most UK teeth whitening pastes. The whitener we determine is most suitable for you is applied to top and bottom sets of tooth enamel. The products and equipment we use are safe and effective. Not everyone can have perfect white teeth, certain types of tooth enamel will only whiten to a certain degree; grey looking teeth, and translucent pale ‘ honey coloured ‘  yellow teeth are notoriously difficult to whiten, and less likely to obtain an optimum whiteness. In home whitening kits carbamide peroxide is more generally used, and is a more affordable, cheap teeth whitening alternative, but can take 2 weeks or more.

4) We apply the blue light close to the mouth in 10 min cycles to react with the whitening gels.
